Here is us on Cliff Trail, a great hike on Kauai. It was our last big trip before moving back to the mainland. It was also where Pat learned he was going to be a father. The Bed & Breakfast, the Hale Aha, was fabulous and the innkeepers, Billie & Gary Sparks were truly a blessing to us.

So, how do you really test the patience and love of your parents? There are a number of ways, but we thought letting them ride in the backseat with Abraham, our great dane, on a day trip through Spearfish Canyon might test the limits. Truth be told, we are so blessed to have had them visit us and actually suggest we bring him along. They are dog lovers, but more importantly, they love him because he's ours. They get the award for "best sports while enduring big dog bad breath". We loved having them visit and cherish the laughs, the pastries and the time together.

Pat and I at Spearfish Canyon Drive with Abraham. We still miss parts of Hawaii, but are loving the changing of the seasons here in South Dakota.

The Everydays of P&K

So, everyone says we need a blog...are we lame, are we behind the techy times or are we just too busy to post anything worth reading? Probably a little of all of the above, but since new friends (the Bruce's and Paul) have come into our life, we've decided that if they blog, why should'nt we? Especially with all that we have coming up in the next few months...primarily the much anticipated birth of our first baby....James 1:17 reminds us that every good and perfect gift is from above...and we could'nt be more overwhelmed with joy at our greatest gift due late January. Okay, so let's see if this works...our very first posting. God bless.
